GwE, the fully bilingual School Effectiveness and Improvement Service for North Wales, works alongside and on behalf of the Local Authorities of Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Wrexham and Anglesey to develop excellent schools across the region. By providing focused and supportive challenge and challenging support, GwE works with schools to develop a self-improving system which trusts schools and their leaders at every level to guide us on that journey.
Our vision is to develop a world class system of education where every pupil within the region will be able to access consistently high quality teaching in all classrooms and where all schools, wherever their geographical location, will be led by excellent leaders.
Through the CaBan partnership, GwE is working to support the development of high quality teachers for the future. Through the provision of continuous professional learning in a research driven culture, GwE is working to equip all staff to deliver the four purposes of the curriculum in all contexts, and improve the quality of assessment for learning to support the Welsh Government objectives for ‘Education in Wales: Our National Mission 2017-2021’
CIEREI is a collaborative, bilingual, multi-disciplinary institute for the creation of research evidence with the primary aim of positively impacting learning and wellbeing for children through schools. CIEREI is a formal strategic collaboration between GwE (the Regional School Effectiveness and Improvement Service for North Wales), Bangor University (led by the School of Education and the School of Psychology), and other bodies and institutions with an invested interest in improving educational outcomes and the wellbeing of children.
